Nebraska Legal Diversity Website

About Us

The Nebraska Legal Diversity Website was designed and is maintained by the Nebraska Minority Justice Committee. The Committee is a joint effort of the Nebraska State Bar Association and the Nebraska Supreme Court, appointed by the Supreme Court in May of 2003 in response to a Task Force’s two-year investigation of racial and ethnic fairness in Nebraska’s justice system and legal professoin. The mission of the Committee is to achieve three primary aims:

  1. address racial disparities in both the juvenile and adult justice systems
  2. ensure equal access to justice
  3. increase the diversity of Nebraska’s judicial work forces and legal profession

The Diversity Subcommittee of the MJC is charged with promoting diversity in Nebraska's judicial work force and the legal profession.  The Subcommittee coordinates efforts to expand the pipeline of diverse law school applicants and take steps to ensure that Nebraska can retain attorneys of color currently practicing in the state. The Subcommittee is chaired by Daphne Aronson Kutak Rock, LLP and Sherman Willis with Fraser Stryker PC, LLO.
